Job Description
Join Our Team as a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in Vascular Surgery
St. Josephs Health located in the vibrant city of Syracuse NY is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a locum position starting in August 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a hospital-based setting focusing on vascular surgery with no outpatient or clinic responsibilities. Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct pre-op physical exams for patients.
- Perform suture removal and assist in surgical procedures.
- Diagnose and treat various illnesses.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
- Write prescriptions as necessary.
- Coordinate patient care efficiently.
- Round on patients regularly.
- Remove permcaths and central venous catheters (CVCs).
Qualifications:
- Board Certification: NCCPA ANCC/AANP; RNFA certification required for NPs.
- Active New York License (or ability to obtain by 8/1/2025).
- BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Experience in vascular surgery/cardiothoracic operative settings.
- Comfortable managing inpatient/internal medicine including hypertension and diabetes.
- Conversion rate cap of $25000.
License and Certification Requirements:
- Active New York State License is mandatory.
- BLS and ACLS certifications must be current.
- Board Certification is required.
