Position: Office Assistant - High School
Job Responsibilities/Qualifications:
Employment: 8 hrs per day (10 month position workteacher days 7 days before/after school year)
Salary: $16.32 - $17.54 (17.54 - $19.17 if bilingual in English/Spanish) per hour starting depending on experience

REQUIREMENTS:
A. Education Level:
- High School Diploma
- Post Secondary training is desired especially if related to job.
B. Certification/Licensure:
- None Required.
- First Aid/CPR certificate desired.
C. Experience Desired:
- Some experience in general clerical work.
D. Other Requirements:
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of English spelling and math.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Skill in operation of standard office equipment (i.e. computer
literacy and keyboarding skills).
- Ability to make computations and tabulations with speed and
accuracy.
- Ability to deal effectively with staff students parents and
visitors.
REPORTS TO:
Designated faculty member(s) and building administrator.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Basic:
- Work involves performance of general and varied clerical tasks which follow well established procedures. Some tasks require the ability to work independently. Work may be reviewed for content and accuracy upon completion. Operation of an alphanumeric keyboard is an integral part of the essential
functions of this job.
Frequent:
1. Demonstrates the ability and willingness to perform and fulfill assigned duties as designated by the supervisor.
2. Types and files reports correspondence and other materials including orders.
3. Operate data entry devices to post information to computer files and produce reports from files.
4. Answer phone distribute appropriate mail and possibly perform reception duties.
5. Operate photocopying equipment and machines in media center.
6. Some postions may require working with students.
7. Perform related work as required.
