The AOC is seeking a Court Program Analyst for its Behavioral Health Program who will work specifically with courts of limited jurisdiction (CLJ) in the development implementation oversight and support of the AOCs CLJ Therapeutic Court Program. The CLJ Therapeutic Court Program was created through funding from the Washington State Legislature to help local courts of limited jurisdiction create and expand therapeutic courts statewide.


The Court Program Analyst position will focus on providing program and policy support to improve the courts of limited jurisdictions responses to behavioral health issues. This includes oversight and program coordination of the CLJ Therapeutic Court Program technical assistance to CLJ courts education resource development and collaboration with local courts and key stakeholders to improve behavioral health responses in courts and throughout our communities.


The Behavioral Health Program Court Program Analyst position resides within the Office of Court Innovation and will report to the Behavioral Health Program Supervisor. An understanding of behavioral health responses and a commitment to ensuring equitable outcomes in courts behavioral health responses and programs are required for this position.


This is a professional level job that works with minimal supervision and applies independent judgment within specified area of expertise. Work is periodically reviewed by the Behavioral Health Program Supervisor who provides direction and assistance on special assignments. This position may also receive direction from senior staff on some assignments.

Salary: Range 64: $76968- $100980 per year (DOQ).

Duties and Responsibilities

Some of the duties you will perform are:

  • Develops implements monitors and supports the CLJ Therapeutic Court Program;
  • Works directly with courts in the CLJ Therapeutic Court Program tracking deliverables identifying needs and ways to support implementation of best practices coordinates and facilitates meetings with courts in the program;
  • Provides staff support to judicial and court committees focused on therapeutic courts which will entail: Preparing meeting agendas facilitating meetings taking minutes drafting policies and procedures drafting budget proposals writing grant proposals etc.;
  • Provides technical assistance to courts of limited jurisdiction in applying behavioral health and therapeutic approaches which includes but is not limited to therapeutic courts drug courts mental health courts community courts domestic violence courts DUI courts etc.
  • Coordinates committee activities with local courts and reports progress;
  • Monitors legislative bills related to behavioral health and therapeutic courts and bills that impact the CLJ Therapeutic Court Program;
  • Develops strategies to improve collaboration and communication among judicial branch partners public health social services and treatment providers people with lived experience and other partners involved in courts behavioral health responses;
  • Prepares reports and presents information to various court and community stakeholders related to the CLJ Therapeutic Court Program;
  • Assists in the development of education and training for judges court staff court partners and the community on the courts response to individuals with behavioral health needs;
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications and Credentials


The requirements for the position are listed below. However AOC will consider any combination of relevant experience and education in its review of applicants. We encourage all interested persons to apply and be considered!


  • Bachelors degree in court administration public administration political science business administration or closely allied field


AND


  • Three (3) years of experience in court administration and/or program development.



THE IDEAL APPLICANT WILL ALSO HAVE SOME OR ALL OF THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE EDUCATION KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES


  • Experience in therapeutic court administration
  • Experience working with courts judges or attorneys;
  • Lived experience with a therapeutic court;
  • Experience using excel workbooks budget tracking and funding award administration;
  • Experience coordinating grants and state funding;
  • Degree in behavioral health or related education.

  • The workweek may fluctuate depending on workload or agency needs.
  • Overnight travel may be required based on business needs.
  • This position is not covered under the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
