Site Manager Conventional Power
Location: Project location is TBD and will require mobilizing to the site.
Initial Planning: Project planning will take place at headquarters in Overland Park KS for approximately 6 months.
Preferred Background:
Union or union management experience strongly preferred.
Conventional power experience as a site manager strongly preferred.
Position Overview:
Responsible for the successful execution of construction and start-up of the project. Provides leadership to the project staff and all organizations on site. Directs staff in daily and weekly planning represents the company in all interactions involving the owner and contract implements company standards and procedures develops project-specific procedures allocates resources and makes decisions in support of project strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Update and maintain the Construction Execution Plan refining as the project progresses.
Direct overall construction effort including coordination of erection activities suppliers direct hire craft labor subcontractors start-up and testing and the owner.
Implement construction processes and procedures ensuring deviations are approved when necessary.
Manage construction and start-up costs to meet established budgets.
Monitor and report on construction budget schedule and quality performance; take corrective action as needed.
Implement project controls processes and procedures including Installation Work Packaging (IWP) using Package Manager software.
Negotiate and implement labor agreements with leadership.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients owners partners craft labor subcontractors and suppliers.
Lead the site management team.
Ensure compliance with project safety health and loss control procedures and meet safety targets.
Oversee quality assurance procedures to meet established standards.
Implement project commissioning and testing plans ensuring adequate resources are allocated.
Manage site materials and field purchases equipment rentals extra work authorizations subcontractor payments professional time sheets and expense reimbursements.
Direct change order management for subcontracts and coordinate owner contract changes with the project manager.
Oversee resolution of back charges collection of construction records and contract closeout activities.
Required Skills & Experience:
Combined Cycle or relevant industrial construction experience.
10 years of experience in a construction management role.
Experience managing projects with 500 direct hire union craft.
Ability to create and man-load schedules for large-scale projects.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
Physical Requirements:
Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Stand kneel bend stoop move and walk long distances in and around confined or cluttered spaces and uneven areas.
See and hear naturally or with correction.
Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with job duties.
Use hands to handle control or feel objects tools or controls according to procedure.
Perform repetitive movements.
Work above 5 feet in height climb and maintain balance on steel framework stairs ladders and scaffolds.
Work up to 12-hour shifts in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions.
Work Conditions:
Typical construction site environment with potential for cramped spaces awkward positions extreme temperatures dust wind snow rain and other weather conditions.
Exposure to bright or low lighting and distracting noise levels.
Work around hazardous equipment.
Some tasks in a typical office environment.

Education Requirements:
Bachelors degree with 10 years of similar project experience in a construction management role (minimum 3 years as a Project Field Manager) or
