StaffBuffalo is currently hiring a full-time Controller for a well-established nonprofit organization in the Buffalo area. This position offers a salary range of $85000 to $100000 per year excellent benefits and a collaborative work environment that values integrity stability and growth. The successful Controller will play a central role in managing the organizations accounting functions providing oversight to core financial operations while working closely with executive leadership to maintain fiscal health and compliance.
The ideal Controller will have strong technical accounting knowledge experience supervising accounting staff and a proactive mindset when it comes to improving systems and processes. This is an on-site position located in Getzville NY.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes including journal entry review and general ledger integrity
- Manage preparation and analysis of financial statements and reporting packages
- Lead the external audit process ensuring documentation and records are compliant and complete
- Supervise the Accounts Payable Purchasing and Cash Management functions
- Collaborate with internal teams to support cross-functional financial reporting and revenue cycle alignment
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting or related field
- 5 years of leadership experience in a Controller or senior finance role
- Strong working knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and standards
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial systems experience
- Excellent analytical organizational and communication skills
- Proven ability to collaborate across teams and lead others effectively
- CPA or Masters degree in Accounting/Finance preferred
- Experience in healthcare is a plus
