Job Description

Position Overview:


The Embassy Suites Gulf Shores Beach Resort is seeking a dynamic driven and community-connected Director of Sales to lead our sales and catering efforts for this premier full-service beachfront resort.

This key role oversees top-line revenue streams including Corporate Transient all Group segments and Banquet & Catering. The ideal candidate will bring established relationships within the Gulf Shores market immerse themselves in the community and lead a high-performing sales team of four or more. This is a hands-on selling role requiring proactive prospecting high client engagement and leadership that drives both immediate and long-term revenue growth.

This individual will be expected to proactively analyze performance of the hotel identify gaps in revenue strategy or lead management and deploy their teams to deliver short- and long-term topline impact.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead mentor and develop a high-performing sales team setting clear individual activity revenue and crossover goals to ensure year-over-year growth.
  • Foster a culture of accountability collaboration and proactive selling.
  • Regularly review performance against goals providing feedback coaching and actionable strategies.
  • Partner with GM RDRM and RSD to align sales revenue and marketing strategies.

Sales & Revenue Management

  • Personally prospect sell and close business across all segments Corporate Transient Group Social and Catering.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to maximize revenue and profitability.
  • Accurately forecast group and F&B revenues identifying and closing performance gaps.
  • Implement pricing strategies for rooms meetings and F&B to drive optimal ADR and profitability including forward-looking strategies for future budget years.

Client & Community Engagement

  • Actively network within Gulf Shores and surrounding markets to build brand presence and cultivate new business opportunities.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key accounts meeting planners and community organizations.
  • Represent the resort at local events industry trade shows and brand showcases.

Event & Catering Oversight:

  • Oversee execution of large group events and banquets ensuring flawless delivery in partnership with F&B and Operations teams.
  • Ensure Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) are complete accurate and communicated effectively to all departments.
  • Participate in weekly BEO meetings to align operations with client expectations.

Market Analysis & Strategy:

  • Monitor competitor activity market trends and demand drivers to adjust strategy.
  • Leverage brand tools and resources presenting key dates and opportunities to brand global sales teams.
  • Partner with digital team to create and execute targeted social media campaigns to promote the property and drive awareness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Hospitality Business Marketing or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Director of Sales in a full-service or large resort environment.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a sales team of 4 with measurable results.
  • Established relationships in the Gulf Shores or coastal Alabama market highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of group and catering sales event execution and revenue forecasting.
  • Proficiency with Hilton systems (Delphi FDC OnQ R&I) preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in social media marketing to drive sales.
  • Exceptional communication presentation and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced high-visibility environment with demanding ownership expectations.
