Job Description

School Operations Coordinator (Managerial Tier B)

Role Overview

Reporting to the School Operations Manager theSchool Operations Coordinatorwill collaborate closely with a fast-paced and forward-thinking team to support the maintenance of safe functional and aesthetically welcoming learning spaces for our scholars. The School Operations Coordinator will support the implementation and improvement of efficient and high quality systems and processes at both school campuses. The School Operations Coordinator will also lead the development of whole school and community events manage school operations and collaborate with staff on school culture and climate.

Responsibilities of the School Operations Coordinator will include but are not limited to:

After School Partnership Management

  • Serve as the primary liaison with key after school partners
  • Create and maintain student schedules room assignments safe transitions to and from programs and other logistics to ensure a smooth after school program
  • Establish and maintain successful relationships with members of the Eliot community in close collaboration with school administration
  • Design and implement structures to collect and act on feedback of after school programming
  • Continue to seek and build new partnerships with a focus on maximizing resources

School Operations Support

  • Manage students transportation including bus registration bus lists bus arrival and dismissal procedures and district-related interactions pertaining to the student bussing
  • Support the creation and maintenance of school operational systems that support high quality instruction and family engagement
  • Manage the system of and participate in daily duties (i.e. attendance lunch recess dismissal)
  • Drive fidelity of school culture systems across the school including behavior management and more.
  • Inventory classroom facility and supply needs across all homerooms
  • Attend community meetings to hear community concerns provide information about community engagement and advocate for participation
  • Coordinate resources and supports for families and students experiencing homelessness
  • Monitor and develop content for family and community stakeholders and develop sharing system across multiple mediums (website social media telephone blasts backpacked materials etc)
  • Serve as the liaison between the teachers and staff and the technology provider to troubleshoot issues with chromebooks staff computers and other devices when the technology consultant is not on campus
  • Support with other administrative duties as needed

Qualifications

  • Associates/Bachelors degree with experience working with inner city youth in urban setting
  • 3 years of full-time work experience; 1-3 years experience preferably in an education or non-profit related organization
  • Demonstrated passion for and commitment to the Eliots mission core values and educational model
  • Commitment to the success of all Eliot students
  • Flexible and able to multi-task; can work within an ambiguous fast-moving environment while also driving toward clarity and solutions
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems
  • Willingness to work autonomously collaboratively and/or under the direction of senior staff as needed
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge of social media platforms/tools and emerging new media
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Word PowerPoint Excel) and Google Drive Suite
  • Comfort and familiarity with student information databases (Aspen SIS etc)

This position is subject to the City of Boston Residency ordinance Current authorization to work in the United States - Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment

NOTE: School-based managerial employees will work 223 days between July 1st and June 30th each year. The 223 day work-year will include the 180 days in which school is in session and the additional days will be determined by the employee and the principal or headmaster of the school.

School-based managerial employees are not eligible for vacation time or compensatory the event of school cancellation due to snow or inclement weather school-based managerial employees need not report to work.
