We seek a Tender Writer/Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates and tender documents to secure project bids. The role involves leveraging spreadsheet databases and tools like Bluebeam to analyze project requirements and develop proposals. This position is critical for ensuring precise cost estimations and successful bid submissions across various projects.
What Youll Do:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates using existing spreadsheet databases to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
- Develop and write tender proposals ensuring alignment with client specifications and project requirements.
- Review project plans drawings and specifications for accurate cost assessments.
- Collaborate with project teams to gather technical and commercial data for comprehensive bid submissions.
- Maintain and update cost databases to reflect current market rates and project-specific variables.
- Ensure tender submissions are complete compliant and delivered within client deadlines.
- Conduct post-tender reviews to refine estimating processes and improve future bid accuracy.
Requirements
What You Bring:
Were looking for someone who:
- Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
- 2 years of experience in cost estimation and take offs highly preferably with civil and earthworks experience. Tender writing experience is a bonus.
- Extensive hands-on experience using Bluebeam specifically for take-offs and measuring quantities from project plans.
- Advanced skills in spreadsheet software (e.g. Microsoft Excel) for cost analysis and database management.
- Fast and thorough with a proven ability to manage competing deadlines and deliver accurate estimates under pressure.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret project requirements and develop accurate cost estimates.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for crafting compelling tender documents.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to juggle multiple bids and documentation streams simultaneously.
- Comfortable working collaboratively with engineers estimators and project managers to collect and validate input data.

Requirements/Skills Needed: Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. 4+ years of experience in estimation, project costing, or a similar role. Proficiency in AroFlo CRM, and Groundplan software. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word. Strong understanding of Australian construction practices and regulatory standards. Speak English well. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in reviewing plans and documentation. Strong IT skills with the ability to learn and adapt to various tools and systems.
