Our Hastings Park Mine Shop is looking for an experienced Leading Hand to join our Mackay Operations team. This role has been created to support growing workloads maintain a strong leadership-to-resource ratio and ensure the highest quality outcomes for our people and customers.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a leadership position working a 4/3 Monday Friday roster reporting directly to the Foreman. Youll be responsible for driving safety productivity and quality while leading a skilled team to deliver first-class products and service.
Key responsibilities:
Lead and inspire your team to achieve outstanding safety performance and customer satisfaction.
Champion our No Harm commitment through safety interactions and proactive hazard reporting.
Oversee and coordinate planned work schedules providing hands-on guidance when needed.
Identify and address quality or efficiency risks while finding opportunities to deliver greater value for customers.
Support the quoting of job scope variations and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Model our company values and leverage digital tools to drive progress towards greater business goals.
Ensure apprentices receive quality on-the-job training to meet competency milestones.
Promote sustainability and environmental responsibility in line with company policies.
About You
You will bring the following skills and experience to the role:
Certificate III or IV in Trade Certification Post Trade Qualifications with a minimum of five (5) years experience
Demonstrate competence to show supportive and structured leadership in the workplace.
Skills to provide high level technical advice and guidance to subordinates.
Skills to provide a very high level of customer service whilst ensuring customer needs are addressed.
Competent to promote team effectiveness communicate up and down the chain of command and inspect others work to ensure high level quality assurance.
Maintain a high level of workplace health and safety.
Excellent planning and organisational skills
