The PLC Manufacturing Technician is responsible for the set-up and maintenance of all electrical pneumatic hydraulic and mechanical systems on equipment used in the production process. This role works closely with engineering teams to monitor and improve processes for optimal output and waste reduction. The position also requires leadership in addressing process performance issues.
Set up and maintain pneumatic hydraulic and mechanical systems on production equipment. Maintain all electrical systems used in production.
Perform preventive maintenance on designated equipment as specified in the PM program or as required to maintain smooth operations.
Assist engineering with installation debugging and start-up of production equipment.
Maintain equipment logs documenting downtime maintenance issues and process changes.
Support engineering in adjusting and maintaining vision systems within specified parameters.
Ensure safety environmental and quality system requirements are upheld.
Provide production supervisors with equipment and process performance data including production and waste metrics.
Lead and support other associates in troubleshooting and repairing production equipment.
Coordinate and support additional maintenance activities as needed.
High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Mechatronics preferred.
Minimum 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment in an electronic electrical or related function.
Minimum 2 years of experience working with automation controls software.
Experience in the medical device industry is preferred.
Understanding of basic mechanical electrical pneumatic hydraulic and electronic principles.
Ability to interpret schematic drawings and technical specifications.
Proficiency in PLC troubleshooting including logging into PLCs and diagnosing ladder logic (Allen Bradley preferred).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently under pressure and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Regular standing walking bending stooping reaching overhead climbing ladders crouching crawling grasping pushing pulling kneeling squatting gripping writing and repetitive motions.
Occasional operation of foot pedals.
Smoke-free workplace.
No false eyelashes press-on fingernails or jewelry (including dermals) permitted on the production floor.
Steel-toe non-slip shoes required while on the production floor.
On-site work required at least 4 days per week.
