Job Description
ACCOUNTANT (Permanent)
Our client an established manufacturing & distribution organization in WNY is looking to hire an Accountant to join their team. This role reports directly to the Assistant Controller who is out of state at another facility but has guidance & mentorship from the on-site Senior Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn and grow within a stable & growing organization and join a great team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform general day-to-day accounting duties ensuring compliance with GAAP
- Update and maintain journal entries and regularly conduct general ledger reconciliations
- Identify report and correct errors
- Prepare financial statements regarding income cash flows balance sheets etc.
- Assist with month-end/year-end close by preparing and generating financial reports ensuring they are up to date and accurate
- Analyze costs pricing and variances and report findings to increase the financial performance of the organization
- Assist with audit preparation by compiling necessary financial documents and responding to inquiries from external auditors
- Collaborate with operations and procurement teams by providing financial guidance and offer suggestions to improve process flows
- Participate in process improvement by identifying areas to streamline workflows and optimize efficiency
- Ensure compliance is maintained at all times
- Work well both independently and in a team environment
- Work on several special projects at a given time ensuring completion in a timely manner
- Other duties as assigned/as necessary
Details:
- Position is full-time direct hire
- Hybrid schedule
- $55000 - $70000 annually depending on experience
- Health Dental Vision HSA 401k with match PTO paid holidays
- Bachelors degree in Accounting required
- CPA or CMA a plus
- 2 years accounting experience; manufacturing industry experience is a plus
- Excellent computer skills Microsoft Excel ERP systems various reporting software
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- Great interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong organization skills and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail to ensure a high level of accuracy
- Self-motivated & willingness to work on special projects and help other areas when needed
- Relocation not available
