Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for picking up inmate work crew from Manning CI and transporting to Walden Farm.
- Supervision of the inmate work crew as daily tasks of taking care of livestock gardens forage crops and greenhouses are completed.
- Maintains accountability of assigned inmates outcounts disciplinary reports and security related searches and investigations at Walden farm.
- Responsible for tool control and equipment accountability to include written inventories.
- May require extended work hours during peak seasons and/or during emergencies (natural or man-made).
- Weekend rotations with other assigned Walden Farm personnel.
- Resume requested but not required.
- Between farms as needed.
- Work schedule/hours vary based on seasonal demands.
Must successfully complete eight (8) week SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and relevant experience. A bachelors degree in a related field may substitute for the required experience.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
(Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).
- Eighteen (18) months experience in correctional security military or police work.
- A degree in criminal justice or a related degree may substitute for 1/2 of required experience.
- Must be certified by the SCDC training academy and successfully complete the basic supervisory course within six (6) months of entry into the position.
