JOB TITLE: Food Pantry Assistant DEPARTMENT AND LOCATION OF JOB: Student Engagement Department Food Pantry Kalispell Campus
ELIGIBILITY: Students must be Work Study Eligible (as determined by Financial Aid) PAY RANGE: $14-15 per hour WORK SCHEDULE: Flexible schedule between Monday and Friday 8 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Works up to 19 hours per week. DRESS CODE: Business casual with appropriate coverage POSITION PURPOSE/ROLE Support the FVCC Food Pantry operations under the supervision of the Student Engagement Program Director. POSITION DUTIES - Perform customer service by greeting clients
- Process intake and distribution of pantry items
- Stock food pantry
- Maintain the organization and neatness of the food pantry
- Assist with ordering food items for the pantry
- Create promote and implement monthly events
- Promote the food pantry on campus through various forms of media
- Research and provide basic needs resources
- May perform other duties as requested.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - Ability to ensure andmaintain client confidentiality and privacy;
- Ability to provide customer service and interact pleasantly and professionally with clients and staff; and
- Possess good organizational skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Previous customer service experience
STUDENT SKILL DEVELOPMENT: Communication critical and reflective thinking customer service leadership professionalism teamwork PREDICTED OUTCOME: Practical competence critical thinking collaboration communicating effectively technological competence demonstrating professionalism and teamwork
STUDENT EMPLOYMENT GUIDELINES: - Students must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits for the fall or spring semester to qualify for student employment.
- Students may not work beyond 19 hours per week during the semester.
- Student workers shall be actively engaged; no use of cell phones (except in case of emergency) or social media.
- Student workers shall demonstrate a commitment to the job with adherence to the work schedule effective communication/interpersonal skills and quality customer service skills to be a representative of FVCC.
