This position is responsible for coordinating with the Director of Accreditation and Empath programs leadership to facilitate successful accreditation and regulatory surveys across the organization. This position serves as a subject matter expert on regulatory and accreditation requirements and supports our programs through gap assessments mock surveys and survey readiness activities.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Functions in a administrative and consultative role to support all Empath programs to acquire and maintain the highest level of service and practice through regulatory survey processes and accreditation activities. Serves as a resource for divisional and program leaders builds confidence competencies and commitment of staff by sharing knowledge and technical expertise.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of Federal (CMS Conditions of Participation) and State (AHCA) regulations and accreditation (ACHC CHAP TJC) standards for Hospice and Home Health programs.
- Exercises excellent collaboration skills with internal and external partners to influence and assure organizational compliance with all standards and regulations.
- Partners with the Director of Accreditation to facilitate or coordinate all external surveys from regulatory or accrediting bodies. Conducts risk/gap assessments and mock surveys as appropriate to inform improvement activities.
- Engages others in planning corrective action plans and activities required to maintain organizational compliance and achieve a high level of service and regulatory excellence across the continuum of programs and services.
- Actively participates and/or consults in the organizations accreditation readiness committees as appropriate to share knowledge and assist in decision making.
- Trains and coordinates with local survey response teams.
- Actively seeks new opportunities to learn and grow throughout the year - attends training sessions conferences seminars designed for own personal and professional growth.
- Shares knowledge and technical expertise with others in workplace and demonstrates openness to learning from others.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Ability to travel within the Empath footprint to participate in survey activities
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Education and/or Experience: Bachelors degree (B.A. or B.S.) or equivalent combination of applicable education and experience.
- Minimum of 4 years experience in hospice or homecare .
- Experience and proven track record in areas of State and Federal regulatory compliance for healthcare organizations education and training the Home Care accrediting standards and best practices.
- Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office programs and electronic documentation systems required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external customers.
