Job Description
Old Mutual Alternative Investments (OMAI) is one of Africas leading private alternative investment managers. We have over *ZAR 139B in assets under management in Infrastructure Private Equity Hybrid Capital and Impact Funds.Established in South Africa in 2000 OMAI is one of the first alternative investment managers inheriting a rich history in the investing space as a member of the Old Mutual Group with more than 178 years of investing experiences in Africa. We are seeking a strategically grounded Chief Information Technology Officer (CITCO) to develop implement and execute an organisation-wide IT strategy that optimizes our capabilities supports our strategic growth agenda and delivers competitive advantage. Responsibilities include digital innovation and modernization data architecture and information security ensuring that investment management oversight and strategic growth are fully enabled by advanced and scalable systems.
A key member of the leadership team this individual will assist key operations by driving innovation and growth in aligning data insights and technology across the business.
Key Result Areas:
Strategic Leadership
- Bridge investment and technology functions to ensure that reporting modelling valuation and analytic capabilities support deal structuring and asset management strategies while enabling the business to operate.
- Define and execute a comprehensive technology and information strategy aligned to business goals.
- Act as a strategic partner to the COO and investment heads to identify opportunities for digital enablement data-driven decision making and operational transformation.
- Drive alignment between the firms investment operations and emerging technologies (cloud analytics platform unification).
- Guide businesses in identifying vetting and implementing fintech and data platforms that enable business capabilities.
Technology Oversight
- Develop and lead the strategic direction of enterprise architecture ensuring the integration of market data pipelines portfolio analytics engines and proprietary investment tools.
- Oversee architecture systems and infrastructure supporting portfolio valuation credit modelling investment reporting instrument management and market data.
- Ensure existing and new platforms are integrated and optimised for performance and scalability.
- Lead disaster recovery business continuity and system security initiatives.
- Govern vendor management and external integrations.
- Establish IT policies procedures and best practices across the organisation
Team & Culture Leadership
- Build lead and mentor toward a high-performance team across technology software development data management and pricing activities.
- Foster a culture of agile delivery cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Inspire thought leadership in technological innovation while reinforcing robust governance and control.
Skills Qualifications and Experience:
- 15 years of experience in both the investment industry and in technology with at least 3 years in an executive leadership role.
- Strong track record within investment environments.
- Proven success in leading large technology integration projects.
- Led teams in developing and executing financial modelling investment and or associated workflows.
- Proven ability to build a strong and highly effective team to achieve common goals

- Familiarity with regulatory and governance frameworks relevant to financial institutions.
