Description

RPOs client is actively seeking a skilled Tissuemaker/Papermaker Team Lead to join our client in Benoni East Rand. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and experienced professional to supervise and control all activities on a shift basis in the running of the paper machine ensuring the production of high-quality paper to acceptable standards as economically and with as little waste as possible. If you have 2-5 years experience in the paper industry and supervisory experience we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and control all shift activities for paper machine operation to produce high-quality paper economically and with minimal waste.
  • Ensure Safety Health Environment and Quality standards are maintained on your shift.
  • Achieve production and quality targets and budgeted run rates on shift.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems preventing PM6 from achieving budgets.
  • Manage training leave approval reliefs and discipline on your shift for optimum performance.
  • Produce paper conforming to customer requirements safely and economically ensuring on-time delivery as per schedules.
  • Ensure smooth flow of paper to the warehouse from both machines through Sunds.
  • Write and audit Work Instructions (WIs) Bills of Process (BOPs) and procedures ensuring strict adherence.
  • Assist the Superintendent with new initiatives to improve quality reduce losses and reduce downtime.
  • Liaise with other departments regarding production material requirements.
  • Assist the Superintendent in resolving inter-departmental quality problems.
  • Identify and drive projects to eliminate waste and optimize processes within the section.
  • Assist the Superintendent with various functions including audits housekeeping inspections BBS observations fault finding and troubleshooting.

Requirements:

  • Matric coupled with a Diploma in Pulp and Paper or N4 Pulp and paper qualification.
  • 2-5 years experience in the paper industry.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize plan organize and strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good communication team player and people management skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Safety awareness.
