Job Description

To lead the design development and execution of the companys Apps learning strategy creating an integrated farmer education experience that combines community learning journeys an information hub for just-in-time knowledge and pathways to formal agricultural qualifications. This role ensures that farmer learning is engaging scalable and results in measurable impact on farmer practices income and progression through the company platform.

Responsibilities:
1. Learning Product Design & Development
  • Translate the three learning pathways (Community Journey Information Hub Formal Qualification) into app experiences and physical/offline integration.
  • Design farmer learning modules that combine dialogue education see-do-teach progression and multi-modal content (audio visual and text).
  • Define 8 10 core module topics per farmer journey stage with seasonal and value chain alignment.
2. Content & Curriculum Management
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts extension officers and anchor farmers to create accurate practical and culturally relevant content.
  • Develop micro-credentials and certification frameworks leading to farmer recognition and professional pathways.
  • Ensure multi-language accessibility and integration of voice-first and visual content to support varying literacy levels.
3. Technology Integration & UX
  • Work closely with the product and tech teams to integrate learning pathways into the Company App.
  • Define user journeys in-app learning flows and engagement triggers (e.g. reminders gamification progress dashboards).
  • Oversee content testing pilot launches and refinement cycles with real farmers in the field.
4. Community Building & Farmer Engagement
  • Design the solo-to-community learning progression that drives farmers from individual app use to active community participation.
  • Establish anchor farmer programs to seed local learning groups and peer teaching.
  • Integrate offline-to-online linkages through markets clubs and extension gatherings.
5. Monitoring Evaluation &Continuous Improvement
  • Define and track learning success metrics: practice adoption yield improvements community engagement and certification rates.
  • Use data and field feedback loops to continuously improve content engagement strategies and the learning platform.
  • Collaborate with the analytics team to measure impact on farmer productivity andplatform progression.
Key Skills:
  • Experience in learning design instructional design or adult education ideally in rural or agricultural contexts.
  • Strong product and UX thinking comfortable with app-based and offline learning models.
  • Skilled in community mobilization and peer-learning approaches.
  • Ability to manage multi-stakeholder content creation (experts farmers partners).
  • Excellent communication skills in English; local language fluency in Shona or Ndebele a strong plus.
  • Comfort with data-driven iteration piloting and scaling.
  • Exposure to digital learning platforms mobile learning or edtech projects.
  • Passion for farmer development rural transformation and scalable education models.
  • Self-starter who can bridge education technology and field operations.
Qualifications:
  • 5 years experience in learning design community-based education or agri- extension.
