Duties & Responsibilities
What Youll Do:
- Create physical concept samples for internal and client presentations
- Develop pre-production prototypes for final approval before mass production
- Translate design briefs into high-quality mockups using various materials and techniques
- Source or substitute materials that balance visual accuracy with availability
- Collaborate with design and procurement teams to resolve design or material issues
- Maintain thorough documentation for all samples produced
- Deliver high-quality samples under tight seasonal deadlines
- Refine designs based on feedback and prototype results
- Manage an organised archive of samples for future reference
- Support the design and production teams with practical hands-on tasks
- Matric relevant tertiary qualification (preferred)
- Experience in product development model making or craft-based design
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator especially with dielines and cutting guides
- A deep understanding of print processes materials and production techniques
- Strong crafting skills using paper card ribbon and small components
- A natural sense of aesthetics colour harmony and emerging trends
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects
- Detail-focused with a practical solutions-oriented mindset
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in packaging giftware or seasonal products is a definite plus
