Job Description

Our client based in Alberton is looking for a Senior Business Development Manager to join their team.

The Senior Business Development Manager (SBDM) is responsible for driving sustainable business growth in the pest control and hygiene sector by identifying new business opportunities building and nurturing client relationships and developing strategic sales plans. This role requires a deep understanding of industry trends regulatory requirements and customer needs in commercial industrial and institutional sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development & Sales Growth:
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in target markets (commercial industrial healthcare hospitality etc.).
  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve revenue and market share targets.
  • Lead high-value contract negotiations and close deals with key clients.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong long-term relationships with clients consultants and stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for major accounts and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.

Market Intelligence & Strategy:

  • Monitor industry trends competitor activity and regulatory changes to identify market gaps and opportunities.
  • Conduct SWOT analyses and collaborate with marketing to position the company effectively.

Team Collaboration & Leadership:

  • Work closely with the operations service delivery and technical teams to ensure service quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Mentor and support junior business development executives.

Reporting & Forecasting:

  • Maintain accurate sales pipeline reports forecasts and KPIs using CRM tools.
  • Provide regular business performance updates to senior management.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Business Sales Environmental Science or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 7 years of experience in B2B sales or business development preferably in pest control hygiene services or a similar service industry.
  • Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales targets and managing strategic accounts.
  • Strong understanding of health safety and hygiene standards and regulatory compliance.
