Job Description
Position : Production Manager
Location : Port Elizabeth
Salary : Market related
Type : Permanent position
Our client within the Food Manufacturing Industry is seeking a Production Manager to oversee their entire production process ensuring consistent product quality operational efficiency & compliance with food safety standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
- 2-3 years proven experience in food manufacturing will be beneficial if in the meat or dried meat industry.
- Solid understanding of production metrics and KPI management.
- Competent in basic Microsoft Excel (data entry formula use basic reporting).
- Strong leadership organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of food safety regulations and quality control systems.
Duties :
- Manage and coordinate all aspects of daily production operations.
- Maintain and improve production schedules output and workflow efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to food safety hygiene and quality control standards (HACCP and relevant regulations).
- Lead supervise and develop production staff to maintain high performance and morale.
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished products coordinating with procurement and sales teams.
- Track analyse and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production output waste downtime and quality.
- Utilize basic Excel skills to maintain records analyse data and prepare reports.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity reduce waste and optimize processes.
