Job Description
Role Purpose
As an Intermediate Business Analyst you ll bridge business needs and technology driving value for The Client. Your expertise will transform complex business requirements into clear actionable technical solutions ensuring seamless integration and innovation.
Requirements
Qualifications
- BCom Informatics or BSc Degree (essential).
- Diploma in Business Analysis (preferred).
Knowledge and Experience
- 6 years as a Business Analyst.
- Minimum 3 years in the investment industry.
- At least 4 years IT experience with integrated solutions.
- Strong understanding of APIs.
- Agile methodology experience (preferred).
- Proficient in SQL (essential).
- Familiarity with IT workflow tools like JIRA Lucidchart etc.

Duties & Responsibilities
Key Performance Areas
- Analyze & Innovate: Investigate business needs define system requirements and propose creative solutions.
- Facilitate Collaboration: Lead workshops to elicit and document business and system requirements.
- Design Solutions: Create user journeys user stories process diagrams data models business rules and mockups to translate requirements into implementable designs.
- Align & Support: Ensure solutions align with business and system architecture while assisting technical designers to understand requirements.
- Test & Validate: Support testing technical solutions processes and calculations signing off on test cases for functional non-functional and integration testing.
- Optimize Systems: Identify and resolve system constraints propose sustainable solutions and reduce errors.
- Enable Training: Collaborate with trainers to develop clear process and training documentation.
- Deliver Excellence: Provide consistent high-quality service to internal and external clients embodying The Client s values.

Technical Competencies
- Proficient in defining Open APIs using OpenAPI editor.

- Basic knowledge of UML modeling.
- Working experience with tools like Postman SoapUI MongoDB and Swagger.
Educational Qualifications: Bachelor s degree in business, Analytics, IT, or a related field. Professional Experience: 5+ years of experience in analytics, business-IT liaison roles, or a similar field. Proven experience in data management, data governance, and project management. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Business Intelligence (BI) tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, QlikView). Strong knowledge of data processes, data modeling, and predictive analytics. Expertise in data governance and ensuring data quality standards. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and IT infrastructure for hosting and managing data environments. Financial Management: Experience managing Capex and Opex for analytics projects. Strong skills in reviewing vendor proposals, managing cost-effective solutions, and assessing quotes. Project Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to oversee analytics projects from demand management through to delivery. Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall). Business & Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to engage with senior stakeholders, such as Managing Directors and Functional Directors, to drive analytics initiatives. Experience in stakeholder engagement and managing cross-functional teams to align analytics with business objectives. Data Literacy & Adoption: Ability to drive data literacy programs and advocate for the adoption of data assets across business. Experience in identifying competency gaps and organizing relevant training or learning sessions. Governance & Compliance: Strong understanding of data governance policies and practices. Ability to conduct access reviews, manage data access permissions, and ensure compliance with organizational policies and external regulations. Cross-Cultural Communication: Ability to work across diverse geographies and cultures, particularly in African markets. Understanding of the African business landscape, local market dynamics, and regulatory environments is a significant advantage. Soft Skills: Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities. Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) to simplify complex data concepts for non-technical stakeholders. Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving data integrity issues. Leadership and collaboration skills with the ability to lead teams, foster relationships, and engage effectively with both technical and business leaders.
