On the hunt for an IT Technician in DBN!

Duties & Responsibilities

Looking for a hands-on role where your technical skills actually move the needle This IT Technician opportunity based in Durban is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-uptime fast-paced environment.

If youre the kind of person who can diagnose a fault quicker than most can find the power button - and youre as comfortable in front of users as you are under desks or inside server rooms - this ones for you.

Duties:

  • Provide first-line technical support across hardware software and networking issues.
  • Install configure and maintain desktops laptops printers and mobile devices.
  • Troubleshoot Windows OS Office 365 network connectivity and hardware failures.
  • Manage user account administration in Active Directory and email systems.
  • Ensure all systems comply with internal IT policies and security protocols.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and updates on systems software and infrastructure.
  • Assist with procurement and inventory management of IT equipment.
  • Provide support for AV equipment meeting rooms and remote conferencing tools.
  • Document issues resolutions and maintain accurate asset records.

Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • A N certifications (or equivalent).
  • Microsoft certifications (MCP/MCSA) advantageous.
  • Diploma or relevant tertiary qualification in IT will be beneficial.

Experience:

  • 2 - 4 years of IT support experience in a helpdesk or technical support environment.
  • Experience supporting Windows 10/11 Office 365 and Active Directory.
  • Familiarity with basic networking (TCP/IP DNS DHCP) and routing principles.
  • Experience with remote support tools and ticketing systems.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and handle pressure in a fast-moving environment.
  • High attention to detail and ability to follow through on technical issues.
  • Customer-centric mindset with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Reliable self-driven and adaptable to different work environments and technologies.
