Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Massachusetts teacher certification in Moderate Disabilities (all levels) preferred.
  • Experience in instruction in compliance with individual education plans5 - 12.
  • Knowledge of Massachusetts Special Education regulations.
  • Prior experience working with students with a range of disabilities including social/emotional autism learning disabilities and/or intellectual impairments.
  • Experience implementing behavior support plans.
  • Experience teaching middle school preferred.

DUTIES:

  • Plans learning activities to address individual differences among students.

  • Implements strategies as outlined in individual program plans.

  • Effectively collaborate with department and grade level teachers.

  • Abide by state statutes school board policies and regulations.

  • Attend meetings and performs duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.

  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment materials and facilities.

  • Maintain accurate complete and correct records as required by law district policy and administrative regulation.

  • Works to foster relationships with related service providers paraprofessionals and general ed teachers.

  • Knowledgable about Massachusetts Curriculum Framework and Alternative Framework Assessments.

  • Supports students in completion of statewide framework assessments.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REPORTS TO:

Principal and/or other Supervisor

SALARY:

In accordance teachers contract.
