Job Description
Stanford University invites applications for a tenured Associate or Full Professor in Climate Science. Climate science is central to understanding and responding to the challenges of global change. We are interested in candidates who can contribute to the schools strategic research and teaching priorities. Areas of interest include but are not limited to the physical processes of the atmosphere and ocean the feedbacks and nonlinear dynamics that influence climate sensitivity key risks to human and natural systems as well as strategies to limit future warming and manage climate-related impacts. We invite candidates that have demonstrated excellence in a broad range of areas (including but not limited to natural sciences engineering and social sciences). The successful candidate will serve as a faculty member in one of the departments in Stanfords Doerr School for Sustainability and could also be jointly appointed in one of the Schools institutes.
Candidates must have an exceptional record of scholarly work in climate science be interested in interdisciplinary approaches and demonstrate a dedication to teaching.

The expected base pay range for this position is:
Associate Professor: $174000 - $341000 per annum
Full Professor: $171800 - $480000 per annum
Stanford University has provided a base pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including years since terminal degree training and field or discipline; departmental budget availability; internal equity; and external market pay for comparable jobs.
