Key Components:
This position is reserved for Federal Work Study (FWS) students only. This position is ideal for students looking to help ensure smooth performances by working with the production team on stage setups lighting and maintaining a safe work environment. This is a great opportunity for students looking to gain hands-on experience in theatre production and teamwork.
- In a student employee capacity may assist in working with external community service partners.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of sets props and equipment before and after performances.
- Help with swift and efficient scene changes during live performances ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption.
- Ensure that all props are properly stored prepared and available during rehearsals and performances.
- Assist in the operation and maintenance of stage equipment including lighting sound and rigging as directed by the technical team.
- Adhere to all safety protocols including lifting techniques handling equipment safely and maintaining a clean and organized backstage area.
- Set up for rehearsals by preparing the stage props and equipment as needed. Participate in running rehearsals to practice scene transitions and technical cues.
- Assist performers and crew during performances ensuring that all props costumes and cues are ready for each scene.
- Work closely with other team members including lighting and sound technicians to ensure that technical elements of the show run smoothly.
- Ability to stand walk and move for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform manual labor.
- Comfortable working in dark sometimes confined spaces.
