Location:Hybrid with ad-hoc occasional travel to one of our hubs - Glasgow or Newcastle

Our Team
Virgin Money are currently on the lookout to bolster our procurement team with Buyers. Youll be responsible for collaborating across the Bank with a specific focus on the IT category and banking operations/credit risk agencies category within procurement establishing strong links with key business stakeholders and developing relationships with new and existing partners. What youll be doing
Providing category support across one of three broad areas:
- IT Infrastructure in areas such as Platforms Cyber Core Infrastructure and Telecoms.
- Enterprise Applications in areas such as IT Application Software IT Managed Services and IT Services
- Banking Operations & Services in areas such as Credit Risk Agencies and Print.
Delivery of savings target in line with the Procurement targets and the savings target of the business areas.
Creating strong and effective relationships with key stakeholders across the Bank as well as with key supplier relationships.
Leading tendering processes and procurement initiatives ensuring that all stakeholder requirements are met within required timeframes and result in the most commercially attractive terms and conditions for the Bank.
Look outwards to the market and using all available sources of intelligence to understand trends and directions supplier strengths and weaknesses future direction for the Banks requirements etc.
Supporting and promoting procurement policy and procurement compliance and adherence to supplier governance framework.
We need you to have
Resilience and confidence when operating in an environment where change is the norm
Good business awareness and knowledge of sourcing principles and practices
IT Procurement expertise and experience in general sourcing
Ability to understand contractual documentation and identification of key issues
Negotiation and influencing skills
Ability to cope with multiple priorities in a changing environment.
Excellent interpersonal & communication skills with the ability to influence in a collaborative manner.
Its a bonus if you have but not essential
CIPS qualification or working towards a CIPS qualification
Knowledge of Risk Process
Sound understanding of Commercial and Legal Language

If youre successful in securing a role with us there are some checks you need to complete before starting. These include credit and criminal record checks and three years worth of satisfactory references. If the role is part of the Senior Manager Regime and Certification Regime it requires enhanced pre-employment checks well ask for six years of regulatory references and once in the role youll be subject to periodic employment checks.
