About the nursery

Spring The Hollies is a 50-place nursery based in the centre of Taunton which was purpose built offering three well-resourced rooms and a fantastic spacious outdoor space for children aged 3-months to 5-years all of which have been completely renovated in September 2024.

The nursery has a beautiful large outdoor space for the children and the Spring The Hollies team prides themselves on creating child led opportunities for babies through to rising fives helping them to learn develop confidence and have fun. The team are dedicated to ensuring all children have the best experience.

About the role

When you join us youll be part of a passionate and creative team committed to giving the highest standards of care and education and helping children to find their feet making friends having fun and sparking their imaginations through play.

In the role of Early Years Practitioner (Level 2) youll be allowing the children to explore and discover their own creativity individuality and imagination within our bright engaging and safe environments. It goes without saying that you need to love being around children and will have the ambition to make a direct and positive impact on their young lives.

What youll be doing

In the role of Early Years Practitioner (Level 2) youll be:

• Working as part of a team creating an environment in which childrens individual needs are met and high standards of care are provided.
• Working alongside Level 3 practitioners in supporting childrens development participating planning and setting up activities for a range of children.
• Developing successful relationships with children and their families.
• Observing and tracking childrens development and share this with parent/carers and other professionals.
• Supporting children during mealtimes and toilet training.

What we need from you

In the role of Early Years Practitioner (Level 2) were ideally looking for someone who has:

• Level 2 qualification in Childcare and Education or equivalent. If you already have a Level 3 qualification do also get in touch.
• Safeguarding Level 2 or ability to achieve.
• Experience working in an early years childcare setting or a setting working with children.
• A thorough current working knowledge of childrens emotional physical psychological and educational developmental needs from 0 to 5 years.
• A commitment to safer recruitment practices to protectourservice users and haveanunderstandingof andcommitmenttosafeguardingbest-practice.
