Description

Supply Chain Analyst / Senior Purchasing Agent
Compensation: Starting pay of $/yr three performance-based bonuses per year!
Location: Either Sidney NE; or Minneapolis KS office dependent on candidates location.

This is a dynamic position where the incumbent will strategize raw material fulfillment and vendor development in an evolving global supply chain network. We offer these benefits and more:

Responsibilities:

  • Source and negotiate with global suppliers for key raw materials. Evaluate and qualify new suppliers to ensure compliance with company quality and reliability standards and monitor global commodity markets to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or delivery reliability.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships to ensure consistent supply favorable pricing and long-term strategic alignment while conducting regular performance reviews and driving corrective actions when needed.
  • Work closely with production planning and inventory teams to maintain optimal stock levels that balance supply reliability with inventory cost targets using report data to refine replenishment models minimize excess inventory and prevent stockouts.
  • Track industry trends tariffs and freight rate changes to anticipate cost and supply impacts and develop risk mitigation strategies for supply disruptions and market volatility.
  • Partner with engineering sales and operations to align purchasing strategy with product development and production needs while participating in project teams for new product introductions and major cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Continuously improve purchasing workflows supplier onboarding processes and ERP system utilization while providing input for reporting enhancements in the purchasing function.
  • Develop and maintain expertise on industry specifications standards and material requirements. Ensure all purchased materials meet applicable specifications and compliance requirements and serve as an internal resource for interpreting technical documents and collaborating with engineering and quality teams to resolve specification-related issues.

Qualifications

Ideal Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associates or bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management Business or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in purchasing supply chain customer service or accounting in a business setting.
  • Strong administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities accurately and on time.
  • Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel proficiency required) and experience working with ERP systems.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for working with vendors and internal teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet when handling vendor or supply issues.
  • Ability to work independently while being a contributing member of a team.
  • Willingness and capacity to learn technical specifications and industry standards relevant to our products.
  • Ability to work at a desk full-time.
