Come and talk to us about a different out why we are a different experienceSpecific Job Details:Starting Fall 2025School Description:The HighSchool serves grades 8-12We expect staff and students to embrace challenges and strive to attain excellence while exemplifying Tiger PRIDE: Perseverance Respect Integrity Dependability and Biddeford School Departments Three Pillars of Commitment to Students Job Duties:The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas:Provides learning opportunities for English language acquisition across district lesson plans and instructional materials to provide customized small and large group and maintains standards of student behavior needed to create a classroom atmosphere conducive to assesses each students academic and social growth maintains appropriate and timely records and prepares progress with parents through conferences and other means such as newsletters email phone calls student information system postings (as applicable) web pages blogs and other electronic means to discuss students progress as it relates to interpreters and translations of important documents as an additional means for communicating with student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members to help students assess and benefit from the district identification of ELL students based on the districts LAU annual WIDA ACCESS scores and uses data to plan and inform instruction and direct LAC meetings when considering program changes for ELL Job DescriptionCertification/License:Must be eligible for a valid Maine DOE ELL History Record Check (CHRC) which includes Fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of EducationEducation:Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education or related discipline applicable to teaching Degree in related area :Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade levels is preferred but not and Work in the Biddeford Maine CommunityLocated along the Atlantic coastline with miles of beachesViews of the Saco River to its westLess than 20 minutes south of the Greater Portland AreaLess than two hours north of to a growing population of diverse residentsPicturesque downtownMaines youngest city with a median age of 29 in the historic downtownThriving economyMany recreational opportunities including fishing hiking biking public parks and kayakingEqual OpportunityThe School Department is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
