Job Description
Patrol Deputy
The role of a Patrol Deputy ispivotal because they are the first line of defense in maintaining public safetyand enforcing the law. They areresponsible for the preservation and protection of life and property. Theyrespond to emergencies conduct traffic stops investigate crimes and buildrelationships with the community. Theirpresence deters criminal activity ensures quick response times and providesvital support to victims and citizens in deputies also play a crucial role in gathering intelligencede-escalating conflicts and upholding justice making them essential to afunctioning and secure society.
Requirements:
- High school diploma from an accreditedschool or GED equivalent.
-Possess a valid drivers license.
-Must be a U.S. citizen.
-Be at least 21 years of age.
-Louisiana P.O.S.T. Certified.
- Pass a thorough background screening polygraph examination and drug screen.
-Able to work rotating 12-hour shift assignmentsincluding holidays weekends and declared state of emergency events.
Special Requirements:
-Ability to run walk jump sit stoop bendclimb crawl reach pull and position requires physical agility and strength.
-Able to wrestle with restrain and handcuff acombative suspect when needed.
-Must possess hand-eye coordination includingthe ability to grip with the fingers and hands.
-Must have clear or corrected vision.
-Must be able to maintain a required level ofproficiency in the use of firearms and evasive action/driving skills.
-Must be able to effectively hear communicate ina conversation and recall relevant information.
-Able to work under stressful high-riskconditions.
-Ability to make quick accurate decisions inemergency situations.
