Position Title: Behavior Technician (Specialized Programs)Department: Special EducationLocation: Reports To: Assistant Director/Behavior AnalystJob Type: Full-Time- School YearJob Summary: The Specialized Program Behavior Technician (BT) provides essential behavioral and instructional support across a variety of specialized programs including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) based programs and therapeutic programs. Under the supervision of a certified Educational and Behavioral Consultant (BCBA) the BT delivers intensive individualized interventions to students with diverse academic behavioral and social-emotional needs. This role is integral to programs designed for students requiring targeted interventions due to behavioral challenges emotional regulation difficulties or developmental delays. The BT implements evidence-based strategies in one-on-one and small group settings to promote skill development minimize behavioral incidents and support student growth across multiple specialized learning Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implements individualized behavior support plans (BSPs) under the supervision of a BCBA.
- Supports peers by modeling and coaching student educational and behavioral programming under the supervision of a BCBA.
- Provides direct behavioral support to students including de-escalation of challenging behaviors and teaching of appropriate replacement behaviors.
- Supports students in developing social skills emotional regulation and adaptive skills.
- Supports students with toileting hygiene and other functional living skills as needed.
- Collects and records data on student progress behavior incidents and intervention outcomes ensuring accurate documentation for review and planning.
- Completes graphing with the supervision of a BCBA.
- Assists with educational and/or behavioral assessments with supervision of the Special Educator or BCBA.
- Collaborates with classroom teachers special education staff and other professionals to integrate behavior strategies into the educational setting.
- Participates in team consults professional development and ongoing training to enhance skills and stay current with best practices.
- Maintains a safe and supportive learning environment ensuring the well-being of all students.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow all school and district policies related to student records and privacy.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities over other employees.
