About the role
We are currently recruitingaZone Substation Senior Electrical Technicianto join ourDistribution Specialist Services team based within our North West region (Inverell) preferred with locations of Moree and Glen Innes also considered.
The Zone SubstationSenior Electrical Technician is responsible for construction and maintenance of Zone Substations and Distribution assets. Inspecting testing and reporting the nature and condition of network assets and the installation commissioning and testing of associated Zone Substation and Distribution equipment.
Key responsibilities
Construction and Maintenance of Zone Substations and Distribution equipment
Installation commissioning and testing of associated Zone Substation and Distribution equipment
Carrying out switching operations associated with both high and low voltage Engineering Services
Inspecting testing and reporting nature and condition of Network assets to maintain quality standards
Testing commissioning and liaising with ASPs and capital/major projects team
Accessing and using computerised systems to operate remote equipment
Be available and participate in stand by and after hours duties
Operating plant and equipment associated with Zone Substations and distribution equipment in a safe manner
About You
Youre a qualified electrical technician with hands-on experience in substation operations. Youre committed to safety thrive in a team environment and bring strong technical and communication skills.
You will be an experienced Zone Substation Electrician able to demonstrate practical application of the qualification for this role. You will have experience in complying with and promoting Occupational Health and Safety values environmental needs quality needs and in the practice of the technical aspects of the Zone Substation Senior Technician role. This position will involve travel willingness to work away.
Required Qualifications/Skills
Diploma in ESI - Power System with preferred electives in Protection and Testing or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications.
Drivers licence
WorkCover NSW Construction Induction Certificate
Qualified Supervisors Certificate
Ability to work effectively within a team environment and autonomously
Basic skills in computer operations and ability to use device software
Sound communication and interpersonal skills to be able to communicate electronically in writing and liaise with stakeholders and customers in an amicable manner.
