Cloud Engineer

We are seeking a Cloud Engineer to join our team. This is not just an internal infrastructure role; you are a trusted technical advisor who will partner directly with our customers to design build and deploy bespoke cloud solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

You will collaborate closely with clients and our internal sales teams to translate business needs into powerful secure and efficient cloud architectures. You will take ownership of the entire solution lifecycle from initial design and rapid prototyping to implementation and ongoing support. This role requires you to bridge the gap between complex technical capabilities and tangible business value ensuring you not only meet but exceed customer expectations. What Youll Do: Key Responsibilities

• Customer Solution Architecture: Act as the primary technical expert in customer engagements translating their business requirements into robust and scalable cloud architectures on GCP.
  

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Design build and manage scalable and secure cloud infrastructure using IaC principles primarily with Terraform.
  

• Automation & CI/CD: Develop and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions and Google Cloud Build to automate the build testing and deployment of applications and infrastructure.
  

• Cloud Service Management: Deploy manage and monitor containerized applications and serverless workloads with a strong emphasis on Google Cloud Run and Cloud Functions.
  

• Backend & API Development: Develop deploy and maintain backend services and APIs using Python. You will be responsible for creating well-documented scalable and secure endpoints.
  

• Customer Support & Operational Excellence: Serve as a key technical resource for customer issues ensuring swift resolution. Continuously seek opportunities to improve system reliability performance and cost-effectiveness for our clients.
  

• Security & Compliance: Champion and implement cloud security best practices across all solutions. Manage Identity and Access Management (IAM) network security policies and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  

Requirements

Required:

• 4-5 years of professional experience in a Cloud Engineer DevOps Engineer or similar role with a focus on infrastructure.
  

• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) including services like Cloud Run Cloud Functions GKE IAM and Cloud SQL.
  

• Proven proficiency in writing production-quality Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  

• Solid programming skills in Python especially for developing APIs and automating tasks.
  

• Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines with tools like GitHub Actions and Google Cloud Build.
  

• Extensive experience with containerization technologies including Docker and Docker Swarm for both development and production use-cases.
  

• Demonstrable experience designing developing and exposing RESTful APIs.
  

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly.
  

Preferred:

• A Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certification is highly desirable. Other relevant certifications (e.g. Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer) are also a plus.
  

• Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible.
  

• Experience with Kubernetes (GKE) in a production environment.
  

• Familiarity with observability tools (e.g. Prometheus Grafana Google Clouds operations suite).
