JOB SUMMARY
The Pre-Professional Advising Center (P-PAC) Peer Advisor (Student Engagement) is a leadership position for students passionate about connecting with peers and enhancing engagement with P-PAC services and resources. Student Engagement Peer Advisors play an essential role on the P-PAC team contributing to center initiatives including content creation social media outreach website updates marketing event promotion student outreach special projects and administrative support.
In this role Peer Advisors serve as creative and approachable ambassadors of the office helping to design and implement communication strategies that increase awareness of pre-professional advising services across campus. Responsibilities include creating social media content developing flyers and promotional materials supporting student outreach and special projects and assisting with marketing campaigns.
Peer Advisors (Student Engagement) gain valuable experience in digital marketing content creation communication leadership and project management while actively advancing P-PACs mission of preparing future healthcare leaders and lawyers.
*This position is available to students eligible for Federal Work-Study as well as those seeking Department-Funded student employment.*
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Welcome and assist students faculty and campus guests with warmth and professionalism fostering a friendly and approachable environment at the Pre-Professional Advising Center (P-PAC).
- Develop and execute student engagement strategies through creating content for social media flyers newsletters and promotional materials to promote P-PAC events resources and services.
- Maintain and update the P-PAC website to ensure information is current accurate and accessible.
- Conduct proactive student outreach through digital communication (emails phone calls social media) and in-person campus activities to share advising updates resources and opportunities.
- Assist with planning promoting and facilitating P-PAC workshops events and special projects in collaboration with the P-PAC team.
- Represent P-PAC at campus events tabling sessions and outreach activities to increase visibility and student engagement.
- Collect and analyze feedback from students to help improve P-PACs communication strategies and outreach efforts.
- Provide administrative support including scheduling appointments managing office communications data entry event logistics and maintaining office organization.
- Participate in P-PAC team meetings trainings and professional development sessions to enhance skills and stay informed on office initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism reliability and a proactive attitude in all responsibilities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 maintained throughout employment.
- Undergraduate student in good academic standing; Sophomore Junior or Senior actively pursuing a degree in Communication Marketing Public Relations or a related field.
- Strong multitasking abilities and excellent organizational skills.
- No campus disciplinary record.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Demonstrated experience and comfort working with peers from diverse backgrounds.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage professionally with students faculty staff and campus guests.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Friendly approachable and able to establish appropriate boundaries while engaging with peers in person and through digital platforms.
- Knowledge of social media best practices and trends to effectively engage the student community.
- Willingness to learn new skills policies processes and professional school information to effectively support student engagement initiatives.
- Demonstrates initiative creativity and flexibility in developing content and executing outreach strategies.
- Enjoys working collaboratively as part of a team but is equally comfortable managing independent projects and tasks.
- Ability to empathize with students and communicate in ways that reflect an understanding of diverse student experiences and needs.
- Confident in presenting information to both large and small groups including during workshops tabling sessions and outreach events.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word Excel PowerPoint) and well-versed in designing flyers social media content and other digital media
- Responsible detail-oriented and demonstrates strong critical thinking professionalism punctuality and reliability in all assigned tasks.
