What Youll Do:
As aPeer Specialist (Peer Mentor)at BAMSI youll use your lived experience to inspire hope and guide others on their recovery journey. This isnt just a job its a chance to make a profound difference by fostering resilience self-determination and community connection. - Be a Beacon of Hope:Share your recovery journey to motivate and empower individuals showing them growth is possible.
- Advocate & Educate:Help individuals combat stigma understand their rights and navigate mental health systems with confidence.
- Build Trusted Relationships:Use active listening and empathy to create a safe non-judgmental space for healing and growth.
- Collaborate for Change:Work alongside a dedicated team to ensure recovery-focused person-centered care.
- Teach Practical Skills:Support individuals in daily wellnessfrom housing stability to self-carehelping them thrive independently.
- Lead with Lived Experience:Bridge gaps between clinical teams and individuals by offering unique insight into their needs and strengths.
What Were Looking For:
- Lived Experience:A personal history of recovery and a deep commitment to the peer support movement.
- Certification:Must be aCertified Peer Specialist Recovery Coach or Young Adult Peer Mentor.
- Compassionate Communicator:Strong listening skills and the ability to connect with diverse backgrounds.
- Resourceful Advocate:Knowledge of mental health systems and community resources in Southeastern MA.
- Reliable & Independent:Valid drivers license and reliable transportation (travel required).
- Bonus:Fluency in languages such as Spanish Portuguese Haitian Creole.
