At Proper Food we make it a cinch to eat well on the run. We craft our fare by hand fresh every morning the only way we know how with whole seasonal ingredients sliced chopped and seasoned with care. Nothing phony or factory-made. Just good proper food thats packed and ready to go. We cook all our meals from scratch each morning in our commissary kitchen and deliver them to our stores each day. At the end of each day unsold meals are donated to local food banks.
Proper Food launched in San Francisco in 2014 and has rapidly grown to fifteen stores in the SF Bay Area one at SFO Airport and four in New York City earning accolades from customers food critics and local media. Proper Food SFOs location in Terminal One has been a favorite of travelers and employees since its opening!
The Role
As Assistant Manager you will be overseeing the daily function of our Proper Food SFOlocation in Terminal Onewith the support of your General Manager. The SFO team consists of 15-25 team members. You will be responsible for cultivating the culture of the store and your management style willinfluence the flow of each business day. We are looking for someone who is communicative dependable friendly enthusiastic and hardworking to manage our SFO location in Terminal One.
This location is open daily 365 days of the year and our Assistant Manager will be required to have open availability to be on shiftto support the GM and teamas needed. All our food is prepared and packed at our off-site Commissary and delivered daily to our Stores ingrab-and-go -store food prep is limited to heating meals when requested and bagging items.

Assistant Managers are salaried employees whose work schedule is based on the needs of the store.
Your Responsibilities
Support thedaily functions of the store - taking inventory labor management assisting the team during peak times overseeing deliveries delivering catering orders cleaning & other to-dos
Maintain company & store culture
Train & develop team - provide and model customer service and food handling standards
Oversee work performance - administer feedback directly to team members & shift leads; Relay performance concerns to upper management and HR for support.
Escort new Team Members during their badging process
Learn each seasonal menu - be a go- to source for information oningredients dietary restrictions and preferences
Support the GM withordering supplies & managing inventory
Oversee accounting and cash handling make daily bank deposits
Ensure food safety standards are maintained at all times
Maintain cleanliness and function of store and its equipment
Foster good relationship with management peers & team members companywide
Be flexible - be able to cover shifts in case of employee absence
Be the boots on the ground: we expect our assistant managers to do everything a Team Member does!
Ability to push pull carry up to 30 pounds
Specifically you must have:
1 years of retail/restaurant supervisory experience. You dont necessarily need to have been an Assistant Manager but you do need to have led a team of 5 people.
Food Managers Certificate (we can provide on the job certification within 90 days of hire)
Open availability we are open 7 days a week 365 days a year 4am-midnight. You will be part of a multi-person management team who each take responsibility for different shifts but you should be flexible to work a different schedule as-needed.
