Job Description
With five locations throughout the Twin Cities metro area Northwest Eye is among the largest specialty eye care providers in the Midwest. Our environment is both dynamic and adaptable! Northwest Eye Clinic has an opening for a full-time Surgery Scheduler at our Golden Valley location.
SUMMARY
The Surgery Scheduler is responsible for the scheduling and registration of surgery appointments providing a positive impression of Northwest Eye Clinic and being knowledgeable in complex scheduling scenarios and insurance plans. This includes answering calls quickly entering demographic information scheduling appointments and providing appointment instructions to patients. This position is based in our Golden Valley Administration Office. Hours are Monday through Friday with varying shifts from 7:00am-6:00pm. Starting pay is $22.00-23.00/hour.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Schedule surgical patients as assigned by management in a clinic setting.
- Monitor voicemails closely to ensure patients phone calls are answered in a timely manner.
- Obtain accurate patient demographics including insurance information.
- Complete patient registration via phone at the time of scheduling.
- Coordinate referrals for surgery by obtaining approval from providers and scheduling surgery and all post-operative appointments.
- Maintain patient portal questions regarding scheduling and registration and contact patients back to schedule their requested appointments.
- Receive and complete all tasks sent through the Electronic Health Records.
- Complete RDR forms.
- Arrange co-surgeries and complex surgeries and procedures with external medical facilities.
- Maintain surgery cancellation list.
- Schedule interpreter services for surgery patients.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school education with one-two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience with a high focus on customer service insurance plans and medical background. Ophthalmology experience and/or surgery scheduling experience is a plus.
