A Brief Overview
This position is responsible for administering policy and processing applications related to government funding student financial aid. The incumbent is responsible for processing Ontario Student Assistance Program Out Of Province financial assistance programs as well as US Federal Loans which include interpreting policy processing reviews and appeals as well as accessing and maintaining various government portals. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and requires the incumbent to remain current with policy and procedural changes among all the complexity of the financial aid programs. The incumbent works closely with students in crisis completes process reviews with the government aid team and supports student retention and recruitment activities
This position acts as the first point of contact for inquiries on a variety of student financial assistance programs. This position selects and evaluates applications for needs-based bursary and award programs. This position reviews award appeals and prepares recommendations to Appeals Committee. This position prepares a variety of reports for awards and/or needs-based bursaries. This position monitors students government financial assistance accounts using the respective portal systems and databases and confirms eligibility requirements are being met. This position also directs allocates and supervises the work of other staff.
