At SPL were powered by purpose precision and forward momentum. Were searching for a motivated Experienced Gas Measurement Technician to join our Metrology Division in Midland TX. In this impact-driven role youll be responsible for installing maintaining and calibrating gas meters and associated mechanical and/or electronic systems with increased independence technical responsibility and field leadership. What Youll Do

  • Install configure calibrate and maintain primary and secondary gas measurement devices;
  • Conduct multi-point verification and orifice plate inspections;
  • Perform troubleshooting of gas measurement systems and correct volume discrepancies;
  • Maintain work schedules with customers and SPL including communicating schedule changes promptly;
  • Prepare and submit required documentation such as COC documentation field service tickets and calibration reports;
  • Identify industry-related equipment and measurement terminology accurately;
  • Edit and maintain preventive maintenance schedules;
  • Transport hazardous and nonhazardous materials safely;
  • Witness allocation and custody transfer calibrations;
  • Train and mentor new employees on primary tasks;
  • Perform tasks onshore and/or offshore using various transportation methods (vehicle helicopter boat seaplane etc.);
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; applicable experience may be considered in lieu of education;
  • Minimum of one (1) year of gas measurement experience;
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently and perform primary tasks with minimal supervision;
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for gas measurement systems;
  • Solid understanding of low-voltage electrical systems;
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of AGA/GPA/API Measurement Guidelines and regulatory standards (BLM COGCC);
  • Proficiency using at least one calibration software program;
  • Valid Drivers License with acceptable driving record.

Your Schedule and The Fine Print

  • Full-time position following a varying work schedule of 8-16 hours per day;
  • Ability to participate in on-call rotation schedule including weekends and holidays as needed to support business priorities and deadlines;
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions including hot cold and/or inclement temperatures;
  • Flexibility to stay overnight out-of-town or offshore when required.
