Job Description

Employment Type: Part Time up to 28 hours per week

Duration: 2 years fixed term

Remuneration: Professional Level 8 $127K- $143K pro rata (based on experience) 17% super Annual Leave Loading

Location: Kensington New South Wales

Workdays: Hybrid - Minimum two days on-site (with Monday Tuesday or Thursday preferred).

Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Candidates must hold unrestricted work rights to be considered for this position.

Why this role matters:

The UNSW Tax and Business Advisory Clinic provides free year-round tax advice representation education and advocacy to financially vulnerable individuals and small businesses.

The Senior Tax Accountant (Trauma-Informed Practice) will deliver specialist tax and accounting advice to victim-survivors of financial abuse through the UNSW Tax and Business Advisory Clinic. This role combines direct client casework advocacy and mentoring with a strong focus on trauma-informed practice ensuring high-quality compliant services that address complex financial challenges in the context of broader socioeconomic disadvantage.

Working closely with the Clinic Director Practice Manager and Principal Clinic Supervisor the Senior Tax Accountant will oversee service delivery contribute to policy and law reform initiatives support Work Integrated Learning for students and assist in driving the Clinics strategic growth and impact. The position also represents the Clinic to internal and external stakeholders supports staff training and contributes to research evaluation and advocacy projects that promote financial wellbeing and access to justice.
