Colorado Mental Health Hospital in Pueblo (CMHHIP)
As a cornerstone of the Pueblo community for over a century Colorado Mental Health Hospital in Pueblo (CMHHIP) is a leading employer provider of quality mental health services and a community partner.

CMHHIP is a 24 hour behavioral health acute care facility that is intended to provide a safe secure and therapeutic setting for patients with both psychiatric and medical issues. The services provided include evaluation and treatment for patients who are severely mentally ill and the goal of this facility is to return patients to their optimal level of functioning and assist them in returning to the community as appropriate.

About this Position:

Under the direction of the Director of Operation the Program Coordinator collaborates with all departments to support the delivery of patient care. The Program Coordinator oversees the program functions over the Adolescent Behavioral Treatment Unit. They provide guidance through coordination with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to facilitate compliance with regulatory agencies standards of care and hospital policy and procedures regarding delivery of patient care. Responds and plans for program services based on the community mental health system needs and demands. Responds to and assists with requests regarding data for these programs. Coordinates with the Department of Public Safety and Division of Facility Management for the safety and security of units patients and staff.

Program Administration and Unit Coordination:

Fiscal Duties:

GPS/Ankle monitoring:
  • Attends Plan of Care meetings for patients that are assigned ankle monitors to ensure communication and understanding of patient privileges.
  • Attends specialized Ankle Monitor/GPS training to include training in use of BI Total Access system.
  • Monitors tracks and responds to alerts for all patients on assigned unit who require ankle/GPS monitoring.
  • Clears all alerts during normal business hours within 24 hours. On weekends after hours or holidays clears alerts the next business day.
  • When on scheduled or unscheduled leave assures that all GPS alerts for the unit are turned over to designated coverage.
  • Responds to all alerts by verifying whereabouts of patient and then documents accordingly when clearing alert.
  • Checks ankle strap for each patient at least monthly documents inspection on tracking log and provides log to Program Support Director for initials on a monthly basis.
  • Makes all necessary notifications when new strap is needed and participates in replacing the device.
  • Maintains expertise in strap removal and ankle monitor placement. Ensures an extra strap is available for immediate need.
GPS/Ankle monitoring:
  • Work leader/project leader over designated Administrative Assistant IIIs Health Professional IIs or other disciplines of the assigned department.
  • This position is responsible for direction and assistance to staff assigned to assigned units while working in conjunction with the Senior Program Coordinator.
  • This position is responsible for working with the Senior Program Coordinator to ensure all operational services provided on the assigned unit are delivered correctly.
  • The position is responsible to ensure all assignments and duties are completed and in compliance with CMHHIP policies and procedures while working in conjunction with the Senior Program Coordinator.
  • Staff are notified promptly of changes to processes policies and procedures through communication methods to include Cornerstone meetings email and individual contact.
  • Individual coaching sessions are conducted regularly with assigned staff.

Seven (7) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to the position

Education and Experience:

A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to seven (7) years.
