Job Description
Business Insider is hiring a Senior Insights & Analytics Editor to work on pivotal decisions and strategies that will deepen reader engagement and drive the companys growth.
The Role & Team
The Editorial Insights & Analytics team is responsible for creating and implementing actionable data-driven initiatives across the Business Insider newsroom and the Strategy and Operations team broadly.
As a Senior Insights & Analytics Editor you will be a key player in shaping our content strategy. You will be responsible for analyzing data to provide actionable insights to our editorial team helping them understand our audience and what resonates with them. You will work to identify growth opportunities and inform decision-making with data-backed recommendations to enhance our content performance and drive reader engagement.
Reporting to the VP Analytics & Insights youll work closely with colleagues across the global newsroom. This role is based in our New York City HQ and is union-eligible.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze content performance across platforms to uncover actionable insights that help inform editorial decision-making.
- Develop and deliver regular reports and presentations for the newsroom translating complex metrics into clear strategic recommendations.
- Refine dashboards reports and KPIs that serve editorial needs.
- Act as a data-driven advisor to editorial teams proactively identifying opportunities to increase traffic retention and user loyalty.
- Contribute to the development and execution of newsroom-wide performance frameworks and editorial goals.
- Stay current with media and analytics industry trends to ensure Business Insiders insights capabilities remain best-in-class.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Experience in analytics insights and audience development within a newsroom or media environment.
- Understanding of the media industry audience engagement and user-centric metrics.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and a bias to action.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex data into understandable and actionable insights for the newsroom and editorial leadership.
- Proficiency with analytics tools (i.e. Google Analytics Looker etc.) and experience with data visualization.
- A strategic thinker with a passion for storytelling and journalism.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects at once.
Salary & Benefits:
- Base salary: $85000 - $90000 (dependent on relevant expertise).
