Now Hiring: MAG Auditor - Medicaid Cost Reporting
Location: Austin TX (Local candidates only - Remote)
Full-Time Contract or Temp-to-Hire
About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compliance-driven MAG (Monitoring Auditing and Governance) Auditor to join our Medicaid audit team. This position plays a critical role in auditing financial and statistical cost reporting data to ensure accurate reimbursement rates for Medicaid claim processing. This is a remote position but only candidates local to Austin TX will be considered due to required on-site field audits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Audit financial and statistical cost reports submitted by healthcare providers (hospitals FQHCs RHCs)
- Prepare and sign off on tentative and final cost settlements
- Ensure provider reimbursement rates for Medicaid claims are accurate and compliant with government standards
- Conduct on-site field audits (primarily of childrens hospitals)
- Propose financial data adjustments and policy recommendations based on compliance findings
- Perform reconciliation for FQHC quarterly wrap payments
- Monitor verify and report cost data in line with federal/state procedures
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Business or Accounting
- Prior auditing experience (preferably in healthcare or Medicaid/Medicare)
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Comfortable with occasional travel for on-site audits
Work Location:
- Remote but must reside in or around Austin TX (travel required for audits)
