This position is in Cargills protein and salt business where we provide wholesome high-quality food products to a wide range of customers from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters.

JOB PURPOSE AND IMPACT

The Transportation Carrier Representative will work with transportation company to move available freight within the organizations brokerage this role you will handle relationships with a moderately complex portfolio of carriers through prospecting and onboarding activities to ensure efficient cost effective and profitable movement of goods for the organization.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Partner with respective teams to support the placement of a moderately complex carrier portfolio standard operating processes available capacity and quality services.
  • Engage frequently with key carrier contacts to establish relationships.
  • Communicate with key carrier contacts on service issues and provide resolution.
  • Maintain data and prepare reports in the organizations operating system to ensure accurate and timely information and relevant buying decisions.
  • Participate in negotiations to support bids price and service commitments which fulfill profit goals and service requirements.
  • Provide contributions to continuous improvement activities related to carrier opportunities best practices industry developments and events.
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum requirement of 2 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 3 years or more of relevant experience.
