You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailJob Specific Responsibilities Scores PSG MSLT MWT and HST studies following established AASM and department guidelines. Collects patient information by reviewing existing information in the patients medical record or from referring physicians office notes. Conducts the MSLTs using standard guidelines. Prepares a report of the MSLT for the interpreting physician. Follows lab protocol regarding set up and take down of the MSLT patient. Performs PSGs while monitoring study-tracing quality to ensure signals are artifact-free and make adjustments if necessary. Demonstrates an appreciable knowledge of all Sleep procedures performed in the department. Troubleshoots faulty equipment and makes necessary alterations in order to continue with a study in progress. Understands indications contraindications and adverse effects of nasal continuous positive airway pressure (NVPAP BI-level and oxygen administration) applies and titrates therapy based on physicians orders and established protocols. Recognizes and responds appropriately to the patient s medical problems and physiological events especially cardiac arrhythmias respiratory events and seizures. Alters the patient s environment or changes the patient s body position as needed to obtain the required sleep/wake data. Evaluates routine or abnormal EEG when it applies. Attends seminars and professional meetings to keep knowledge and skills updated and maintain CEC required for AASM accreditation. Attends department meetings whenever held. Other duties as assigned.
