Job Description

Title: Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Program Director

POSITION SUMMARY
The Program Director is responsible for coordinating the Colleges Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program. The Program Director will lead supervise manage and implement all aspects of the program including classroom and online course development and instruction curriculum development marketing recruitment and advising of students budgeting faculty supervision and support and revision/modification of all program components as needed and/or required.

This is a non-faculty 12-month administrative position which may include some teaching responsibilities based on operational needs and in accordance with College policy.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct manage and implement the overall operation of the EMS program. Recruit develop supervise and evaluate program faculty and ensure adequate staffing for program courses. Establish annual institutional goals for the program including curriculum development implementation and assessment. Lead all external program accreditation efforts including self-studies site visits and reporting. Maintain accreditation with CoAEMSP and CAAHEP. Coordinate with clinical sites for student placement orientation and communication. Act as liaison between faculty sponsoring agencies students the local medical community and the States Division of Emergency Medical Services including continually evaluating and monitoring program progress and objectives as they relate to the programs licensing registering and certifying agencies. Foster industry relationships to promote and market the program and to recruit guest speakers and adjunct faculty. Facilitate advisory committee meetings and maintain proper documentation. Monitor student performance data and ensure completion of the Colleges Academic Program Review and the TBR Academic Audit. Plan conduct and document regular departmental meetings.

Manage online course delivery and ensure all model courses are current. Oversee textbook adoption publisher coordination and faculty training on instructional materials. Provide academic and career advising. Manage student concerns and coordinate responses. Oversee facilities and equipment use for all EMS courses. Maintain department budget and inventory. Recommend and coordinate equipment purchases. Ensure compliance with all Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) and College policies guidelines licensure requirements and other state and federal guidelines. Complete required College addition to primary administrator responsibilities may teach as assigned and/or as needed including day evening weekend off-campus dual enrollment and distance-based courses. Teaching includes developing and revising curriculum for credit non-credit and online classes maintaining regular office hours and submitting required reports such as engagement early alerts surveys and grades in accordance with established deadlines.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree

Must possess a current EMT-Paramedic Registered Nurse or Physician license and/or hold all credentials for which students are being prepared in the program

Professional license(s) must be free from history of revocation denial or suspension

Minimum of three (3) years practicing in the pre-hospital environment or equivalent

Minimum of two (2) years of EMS educational administration experience

Current endorsement in a Board approved trauma cardiac and pediatric course at the provider level

Knowledge of current National EMS Scope of Practice and National EMS Education Standards and evidenced-informed clinical practice

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Masters degree

Proficiency in instructional methods testing and evaluation of students

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery modes. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a wide range of faculty staff and student populations. Ability to travel extensively throughout the service region as needed and/or required. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
