The Opportunity:
Avantor is looking for a proactiveLaboratory Support Technicianto join our team based at the site inLiverpool (Speke) UK. This role is ideal for someone with experience in cleaning facilities support or customer service who enjoys practical work and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.
Youll play a key role in supporting scientific teams by maintaining a clean safe and well-organised lab environment. No prior lab experience is required just a strong work ethic a proactive mindset and a willingness to learn.
** Please note this is a manual handling job and youll spend a lot of time on your feet so ensure youre comfortable with this before applying **
This is afull-time temporary (12 months) positionbased onsite at AZ addition to a competitive salary we offer a comprehensive benefits package including a bonus a pension scheme private medical and dental care and an additional day off for your birthday.
Working hours:Monday to Friday core hours
The Team
Youll be part of a dedicated team supporting the QC and Flu-BPD laboratories. This role sits within ourLab and Production Services division which partners with leading pharmaceutical companies and research institutions globally.
What were looking for
- Experience in cleaning facilities warehouse or customer service roles
- Comfortable with manual work and handling heavy items
- Good understanding of safety and hygiene practices
- Basic IT skills (e.g. using email spreadsheets online forms)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- A proactive attitude and willingness to support the team
How youll thrive and create an impact
- Perform scheduled cleaning and maintenance of specialised lab equipment
- Manage chemical and clinical waste removal and general housekeeping
- Conduct inventory checks and restock lab consumables and PPE stations
- Maintain accurate records of lab activities and equipment performance
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to SHE audits
