The Laboratory Haematology unit provides diagnostic haematology services for Alfred Health and Western Health as part of the new Shared Pathology Service including general haematology coagulation transfusion medicine and flow cytometry. A laboratory haematologist is available 24 hours to consult on issues such as test interpretation new haematological diagnoses and transfusion support particularly in the acutely bleeding patient.
