Description

OVERVIEW:

The EHC Compliance Specialist reports to Emory Healthcare (EHC) Compliance and Privacy Office Leadership. This position assists with systemwide compliance initiatives such as the conflict of interest program reporting trends analysis as well as policy and procedure management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports day-to-day operations of the Compliance Program.
  • Works to ensure timely resolution of compliance issues and facilitates communication of compliance-related matters.
  • Assists in the formulation review and revision of compliance policies and procedures as directed.
  • Assists with enterprise compliance risk assessment coordination.
  • Assists with the investigation of compliance matters reported via the Emory Trust Line and the EHC Compliance Office.
  • Assists with maintaining regular and consistent governance-level reporting and metrics for the EHC Compliance Office including but not limited to dashboards board reporting weekly monthly and annual compliance & ethics reporting.
  • Works with Senior Compliance and Privacy Office leadership as well as other key clinical and operational leaders on compliance investigations issues and matters.
  • Supports the conflict of interest process.
  • Performs additional departmental duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess:

  • Experience working as a healthcare compliance professional.
  • Knowledge of state and federal healthcare compliance rules regulations & laws.
  • Excellent writing communication interpersonal information technology and analytical skills.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities requirements:

  • Ability to work on a team and work independently when needed.
  • Ability to adjust to changing work demands and multi-task.
  • Thorough attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.

Education & Experience requirements:

  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of experience in a healthcare organization.
  • Masters (MA or MS) or Juris Doctorate (JD) degree may be considered in lieu of certifications and work experience.
  • Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) preferred.


Work Environment: Hybrid: 2-3 days/week onsite - Some local travel may be required for audits training or regulatory meetings.
