Technical Specialist Supervisor
Position Summary
Technical Specialist Supervisor with a passion for electric vehicle technology and a proven track record of supporting service technicians. Candidates are skilled at understanding the technical functions of electric vehicles and providing in-depth technical support to remotely based technicians. Candidates also bring a history of working with product engineering and manufacturing teams to create tools to educate and advance the knowledge of vehicle diagnostics and repair.
Position Responsibilities
Daily Technical support of Orange EV Field Service Technicians via Teams phone or in-person
Provide guidance to Engineering Departments regarding product design from a serviceability perspective
Creation of technical documents including Troubleshooting Guides R&R instructions and Service Manuals
Develop maintain and grow a dispatch system for incoming support requests
Design and implement a standardized process for tracking and reporting key metrics related to support provided to internal and external technicians
Support the Technical Training department by creating and delivering targeted training modules.
Collaborate with Quality and Warranty and Engineering teams to identify and escalate field issues while maintaining and reporting on relevant metrics.
Cultivate and manage relationships with third-party technical support teams and independent technicians.
Establish and promote service standards and best practices for technicians in the field.
Coordinate with Service Management and Training teams to guide technicians toward appropriate modular training programs.
Develop and maintain a structured process for validating service procedures to ensure accuracy efficiency and safety.
Manage the schedule of the Technical Support team to ensure availability to Service Technicians
Delivering ongoing performance coaching and development support to the Technical Specialist Team
Leading and conducting comprehensive annual performance reviews
Addressing performance issues and administering disciplinary actions as needed in alignment with company policies
Establishing managing and supporting a team of direct reports to foster engagement and accountability
Position Qualifications
3 years of Automotive or related technical experience
Bachelors degree in a related field preferred
Excellent Organizational Skills
Problem solver adept at troubleshooting and resolving issues
Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications: Word Excel and Outlook
Technical Writing Experience is a plus
Computer and Software Setup Experience a plus
